That's it.

This project focuses on the fascinating relationship between artifice and nature, exploring places where human intervention has dissolved over time, giving way to nature's reclamation. I am dedicated to seeking out abandoned or semi-abandoned cemeteries, places where the sense of abandonment becomes tangible, and the passage of time is reflected in the appearance of the tombs, many of which date back to the 1900s or earlier. These cemeteries, now rare, provide a setting where the boundary between memory, history, and nature blurs, creating a unique atmosphere that invites reflection on the concept of impermanence and the connection between death and the natural landscape.

My long-term goal is to expand the project by investigating the cult of the dead in other cultures and countries far from our own. I am interested in observing how the relationship between death and nature is perceived and represented in different cultural contexts, uncovering rituals, traditions, and sites that reveal unique perspectives on how various societies engage with the ideas of loss and memory.
